The defence model

Lithuania is a state on NATO’s Eastern Flank, so its total defence model must be among the best in the world.

What is it?

In June 2026 we presented a study of the total defence model, which analysed the best foreign practice in this field and the military tactics observed around the world in recent times, and produced an initial proposal for applying that knowledge in Lithuanian society. In September 2026 we presented an initial total defence model adapted to Lithuania and tested it in a simulation exercise. In October 2026 the final version of the model for Lithuania and its implementation plan will be presented. From 2027 the plan is put into practice.
