“Telia” joins the Total Defence Association

Telecommunications company Telia has become a full member of the Total Defence Association, while the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Giedrė Kaminskaitė-Salters, has been elected to the Association’s Board.

“Joining the Total Defence Association is first and foremost a values-based choice. Security is a fundamental prerequisite for sustainable economic growth, investment, and people’s confidence in their country and its future. We are therefore taking our share of responsibility by actively contributing to strengthening Lithuania’s resilience. We want to be among the organisations helping to build an effective total defence system,” said Giedrė Kaminskaitė-Salters.

“Total defence is effective when every one of us - whether an individual, a company or an institution - takes part. In practice, this means knowing our role in the national plan, being prepared to fulfil it and helping others do the same. This is how we will create a swarm effect that will contribute to national security while also strengthening social ties and cooperation in everyday life. Telia’s decision to join gives significant momentum to this process, and we encourage other organisations to follow the example set by these leaders,” emphasised Tomas Godliauskas, Head of the Total Defence Association.

As a full member of the Association, Telia will provide strategic input on its activities, participate in its governance, contribute to the implementation of its initiatives, and strengthen the company’s own resilience in line with the Association’s recommendations.

The Total Defence Association invites companies, organisations and individuals who support its objectives to join shared initiatives, cooperate and contribute their expertise, resources or financial support to strengthening Lithuania’s total defence. Cooperation can take many forms, ranging from expert or organisational involvement to supporting specific projects and initiatives.
